FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DECEMBER 3, 2002
The accounting and business consulting firm of David B. Robinson, CPA, located at 14111 Midlothian Turnpike in Midlothian in the historic 1850s Ivymont Manor House has announced that it has dedicated a room in its building to serve as an art gallery to showcase the work of Central Virginia artists and as a venue to raise money for Central Virginia charities.
Artists who received initial invitations to display their work were issued their invitations because their artwork was considered worthy for exhibition based upon the quality of the work and the bona fides of the artist. A different artist will be invited each month and artists are welcome to call to obtain specific details of how to be considered for exhibition.
One of the firm's office assistants, Ms. Devan Barber coordinated the initial invitations and remains in charge of the gallery project. The following is the schedule for the remainder of 2002 and the first five months of 2003:
| December 2002: | Shirley Wright |
| January 2003: | Foust |
| February 2003: | Peggy Davis |
| March 2003: | Beverly Perdue |
| April 2003: | Sarah Hoyle |
| May 2003: | Kay Krapfl |
Each artist's gallery show will hang in the gallery for one calendar month and a new show hangs the following month. All artwork is for sale. Each artist has provided handouts to accompany their work-one with highlighted biographical information about themselves and the other listing each work of art for sale by title and price.
In lieu of retaining a gallery commission, the staff of David B. Robinson, CPA will choose various charities to donate commissions paid by the artists. The charities will vary from month to month.
The first artist, Shirley Wright of Richmond, is exhibiting fifteen framed original watercolors, many of central Virginia locations. Her show hangs through the first week in January when Richmond print artist Foust exhibits through the end of January.
Ms. Wright, a native of Albany, New York, taught Educational Media at both the University of Georgia and at Virginia Commonwealth University. She holds degrees from Vassar College, Yale School of Design and the University of Georgia. She has a studio at the Crossroads Art Center in Richmond and has had numerous one-woman shows and exhibitions. The watercolors on exhibition at The Accounting Offices of David Robinson in Midlothian include landscapes, still lifes and scenes of everyday life. Several of the watercolors have wine-related themes.
Ms. Wright's exhibition is open to the public during normal business hours. Directions and confirmation of hours can be obtained by calling the office of David B. Robinson, CPA at (804) 378-5096.
