FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOVEMBER 1, 2002

The accounting and business consulting firm of David B. Robinson, CPA, located in the Historic 1850s Ivymont Manor House in Midlothian, is pleased to announce that it has designated Randoph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia to be the recipient of the majority of its direct charitable donations intended for educational interests, including the funds that previously established The David B. Robinson, CPA Scholarship Fund.

For several years, notabley 1997 to 2000, the Firm solicited applications from the public for Scholarship Awards and granted awards based on merit and need to students from Central Virginia. It decided in 2001 to discontinue the solicitation of scholarship applications because of lack of student interest. It was necessary to find a suitable place to direct the monies that the firm invests in the community for education and the Firm chose Randolph-Macon College.

In 2001, Mr. Robinson directed the David B. Robinson, CPA scholarship funds to Randolph-Macon College's Office of Development. In November, 2001, he was appointed to the Board of Associates of the College, where he is Chair of the Counseling and Career Development Committee. He overseest he College's Internship programs and is a frequent speaker to student and parent groups about careers, networking and the search for employment.

"The money give to Randolph-Macon goes to a lot of different places: to scholarship, student activities, The Washington-Franklin Debate Society, the Annual Fund and other areas. Randolph-Macon College is the perfect place to complete what had originally been started in 1997 as The David B. Robinson, CPA Scholarship Program. I know of no finer liberal arts college that truly cares and nurtures a small body of exceptional students in a wide variety of different studies and majors," Robinson said.

Robinson continued that "while we don't award money directly to students through an application process anymore, we have heightened our internal employment opportunities for accounting interns." The firm continues to be an active employer of student interns and accepts interns on an ongoing basis. Centra Virginia students who desire to be considered for an Internship position should contact Mr. Robinson at 378-5096.
