FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JUNE 25, 2001

The accounting and business consulting firm of David B. Robinson, CPA has announced that it will be raising money for one of its favorite charities, The White Rose Project of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond's Holocaust Education Committee.

David Robinson, principal of the firm, headquartered in Midlothian with additional offices in downtown Richmond and Goochland Court House, will direct the proceeds from two days of low-priced consulting appointments at the Midlothian office to The White Rose Project. Robinson will meet with clients on two days this summer--Monday, July 30th and Wednesday, August 29th--in 45minute increments in exchange for a $54 donation to The White Rose Project.

In early June, Robinson scheduled three days to meet with his existing clients at no charge as a "thank you for investing in him." These appointments were filled quickly, leaving many clients without the chance to take advantage of the opportunity. In order to find some way to accommodate every request, including those from new clients, Rogbinson decided to waive his normal hourly charges for meeting and set the $54 charge as a "de minimus way to offer value and to control requests for free (or now, almost free) appointments."

The White Rose was a group of five students and one professor. They decided to speak out against the harsh actions of Hitler and his men. they did this by writing six leaflets critizing Hitler and the everyday Germans who sat back and let Germany fall apart. All of them were eventually caught and brought to trial for treason. They were put to death by the guillotine immediately after there capture. These young people were such a threat to the great Hitler that he had to silence their voices at once.

The White Rose Project is a program of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, it is designed to help support Holocaust education initiatives in central Virginia schools. The Holocaust Education committee assists students and teachers in applying the lessons of the Holocaust to present day acts of intolerance, discrimination, and injustice through educational intervention.

In the Jewish faith, numbers have inportant meanings. One of the most popular number is 18, which means "chai" (Life) in the Jewish faith. The clients will be making a $54 contribution, which is a "triple chai." Robinson hopes to raise $1,000 in these two days.
