David B. Robinson, CPA had a chance meeting thirty years ago with Jay Conrad Levinson (1933-2013), who coined the term “Guerrilla Marketing” a decade earlier in his first book Guerilla Marketing—later named by Time as one of the twenty-five all-time best business books.  Robinson and Levinson exchanged ideas and became allies. Levinson used some of Robinson’s ideas in his subsequent books and, of course, Robinson has used many of Levinson’s to build his GreatCPA® Brand.  They stayed in-touch for a few years after 1994 and Levinson went on to write or co-author about fifty books, many of which are now out-of-print.

Some Jay Conrad Levinson quotes from a 1989 newspaper article:

“Business owners need three things to market their firms and money is not one of them:  Time, Energy and most importantly – Imagination – will build your brand better than anything else.”

"The soul and essence of Guerrilla Marketing is achieving conventional goals, such as profits and joy, with unconventional methods, such as investing Imagination instead of money.”

"Guerrilla Marketing has been proven in action to work for small businesses around the world. It works because it’s simple to understand, easy to implement, and outrageously inexpensive."

This class will give an overview of Guerilla Marketing for small start-up, emerging and “stuck” service businesses principally using Levinson’s ideas as perfected and refined by David B. Robinson, CPA GreatCPA® for almost his entire career.  Approximately half the class will be based on discussing Levinson’s ideas in Guerilla Marketing and approximately half the class will be based on Robinson’s specific, original ideas adapted from Levinson—especially the way he has developed his own GreatCPA® brand over the past thirty years using letters, direct mail, flyers and brochures as his principal advertising mediums to generate life-long customers.

The class fee is $325 and is tax-deductible as a business expense.  Each class is limited to a maximum of six persons and is two hours in length. Group rates available for three or more attendees from the same entity.  Your class will be held in the upstairs classroom at David B. Robinson, CPA at 6968 Forest Hill Avenue (Richmond, Virginia 23225).  Call 1-804-359-1330 for additional information and the next available dates.  Classes are generally held on Thursday Evenings or Saturday Mornings.  Advance registration is required.  Advance payment will be required at the time of registration by check or VENMO
